Monthly Maintenance is a multiple nutrient supplement designed to support a woman’s body during the menstrual cycle. Monthly Maintenance provides vitamins, minerals and herbs which help balance the glandular system and hormone production. Irregularities of the menstrual cycle, pain, cramping, and emotional distress are all associated with female glandular dysfunction. In a base of the following herbs for additional support:

Alisma rhizome acts as an antiseptic, increasing urine flow and lowering blood pressure to help edema, heart disease, kidney problems, and urinary tract infections.

Atractylodes rhizome timulates the production of digestive fluids, reduces blood sugar levels, stops spontaneous perspiration, and acts as a diuretic. Atractylodes has been used for dyspepsia, edema, fatigue, and rheumatic arthritis.

Bupleurum root provides both antiseptic and anti-depressant effects, lowers cholesterol, inhibits fat cell production by the liver, exhibits antiviral activity, and reduces inflammation and pain. Bupleurum is commonly used for bloating, depression, dysmenorrhea, dyspepsia, hemorrhoids, herpes, irritability, lung congestion, muscle cramps, PMS, sluggish liver, uterine prolapse, and vertigo.

Codonopis root improves red blood cell count, reduces blood pressure, enhances vitality, and helps regulate metabolism. Codonopis is beneficial for fatigue, headache, irritability, muscle tension/stiffness, stress, and tired limbs.

Cyperus rhizome alleviates muscle spasms and pain, particularly in the uterus, and stimulates the production of digestive fluids. Cyperus has been used to help abdominal pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, menorrhagia, and nausea.

Dong quai root relieves stagnation in the liver and spleen, improves digestion, fights vaginal infection, and acts as a mild analgesic (pain-killer), laxative, and sedative. Dong quai is used for amenorrhea, anemia, dysmenorrhea, hemorrhage, menopausal complaints, and PMS.

Gardenia fruit cools the body to lower fever and reduce inflammation/swelling, purifies the blood, normalizes blood pressure, stops bleeding, stimulates digestive fluids and bile, and encourages healing. Gardenia helps delirium, insomnia, irritability, liver/gallbladder problems, and urinary dysfunction.

Ginger root relaxes muscle spasms and relieves pain and inflammation associated with rheumatic conditions. According to Chinese medicine, ginger focuses its warming properties downward, toward the lower extremities, including the colon, kidneys, legs, ovaries, prostate, and vagina. Ginger is often recommended to women with amenorrhea, menorrhagia, and menstrual cramps.
