Herbasaurs Antioxidants with Grapine provides children with antioxidant protection against free radical damage, known to cause damage to cells and linked with sickness and degenerative diseases. Herbasaurs Antioxidants also helps strengthen children’s immune systems.

Herbasaurs Antioxidants with Grapine contains carotenoids (beta-carotene and lycopene), vitamins C and E, licorice flavonoids extract, and NSP’s Grapine formula, combining the antioxidant benefits of both grape seed and pine bark extracts.

These chewable “dinotabs” are naturally flavored with lemon and lime and naturally sweetened with fructose, mannitol and sorbitol. All of the Herbasaurs products are free of any artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, starches or preservatives.

Each Herbasaurs Antioxidants with Grapine tablet provides:

Vitamin A (beta-carotene) – 1,000 IU
Vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) – 15mg
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) – 7.5 IU
Proanthocyanidins (grape seed, pine bark) – 5mg
Licorice flavonoids extract – 1mg
Lycopene

Proanthocyanidins (PACs), derived from grape seed and pine bark extract, exhibit powerful antioxidant abilities. PACs help increase the intracellular levels of vitamin C and decrease capillary fragility and permeability, improving capillary integrity and preventing bruising. Research shows PACs are an important component in the prevention of heart disease and have been found to inhibit the oxidation of LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream, which can lead to the formation of plaque along arterial walls. PACs provide significant protection of collagen—the primary material in functional fluids, mucus linings, and connective tissues, including cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and the lining of blood vessels. PACs help secure collagen structures and prevent damage to collagen, thus helping to slow the appearance of aging in the skin and lowering the risks of skin cancer from sun-induced free radical damage. Furthermore, PACs enhance immunity and have been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of colds and allergies, especially hayfever, by countering histamine production in allergic responses.

Licorice flavonoids extract is a tasteless, yet powerful antioxidant derived from licorice root. Flavonoids have been found to exhibit numerous beneficial actions in the body, including combatting allergies, cancer, coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis and myocardial infarction, known as heart attack), infection-causing microorganisms, inflammation, liver disease, parasites, thrombosis, vascular disease, and viruses.

Lycopene, responsible for the red pigment of certain fruits and vegetables, is a carotenoid which has been shown to reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Lycopene is found in human plasma in larger amounts than beta-carotene or other carotenoid. Tomatoes are one of the richest dietary sources of lycopene. Studies conducted by researchers at Tufts University found that taking lycopene along with beta-carotene increased lycopene absorption. Carotenoids, in general, may help reduce the risk of heart disease.
